Joseph Yeo of Smokin’ Joe was the first hawker to bring a 100% charcoal Josper grill, traditionally used in full-service restaurants, to a hawker center in Singapore. The Urban Hawker menu showcases his Hainan Western fare, inherited from the British colonial era, in this build-your-own concept. Starting with a base, guests get to choose their setting like Hainanese curry rice with sauteed vegetables, and egg as well as fries, mesclun salad and baked beans. Next comes a variety of protein choices such as grilled chicken, chicken cutlet, fish cutlet, and more. Cheese lovers can also elevate their choice of dish with a lip-smacking cheese sauce.
